Could it be? 5 years at sea?
On the 30th of January, Swell and I celebrated 5 years of voyaging together!
Top 5 lessons I’ve learned:
- Be grateful for what’s good and find the positive.
- Try first, then decide if you ‘can’ or ‘can’t’.
- Hard work will almost always get you there.
- Even when it all seems impossible, TRUST that everything will work out.
- Nature is the source of ALL…love it, spend time with it, fight for it!
Sending an OCEAN of gratitude to all of you for supporting me!
Love,
Liz & Swell

February 3, 2011You are the most amazing woman that I have had the privilege of knowing. AND I have the HONOR of being you aunt. What a gift you are to the universe and all who are lucky enough to be inspired by you.
Thank you for being in my heart and my life. I LOVE you, auntie

February 3, 2011Thank you for living the dreams most of us aren’t bold enough to chase. I’ll be sharing your top 5 lessons with both of my sons in the hopes they will learn from a more adventurous person than their father. I’ve enjoyed your blog since your arrival in Costa Rica, and still check it daily. All my best, an aging Gaucho.

February 5, 2011Great posts and pics. Can I make a request for some surfing pics or vids?? It’s cold and snowy here in NJ and some tubes would be much appreciated.

February 7, 2011i am reminded of two of my favorite quotes. both by a most remarkable woman just like yourself.
‘No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars or sailed an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.’
‘Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature…. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.’
-Helen Keller
may your daring adventure continue to bring the opening of doorways to your spirit and all those whose lives you touch. absolutely love your life lessons. shine bright liz!
peace and love

February 14, 2011Hey Liz!
Good to see that you are still at it. When will you be crossing the Cooks and the “Dangerous Middle”? A couple places that we visited that we would highly recommend are Palmerston Island, Beverage Reef and Niue. Also, if you get to New Zealand we saw an incredible surf break at Whangarei Heads today 8′ to 10″ perfect break rolling out for 100 or so yards.
Cheers,
Ken & Lori

March 10, 2011Wow…………I found you again…………I followed you all the way to Tahiti ,via the web, ,and lost you somewhere along the way.
Could it be that that your great uncle Jim had his boat in Santa Barbara harbour ? I think I remember him.
The surf photographer at Teahupo’o, Joshua Humbert , was just a kid when we stayed on his families boat anchored off the Channel Islands. I built the norwegian life boat that they took, on deck, to Tahiti with them . Thank’s to you Liz for being “out there”
Can you tell me exactly where you were in Costa Rica on the beach in the shade of that tri-maran that was missing one ama. I can use it……. if it’s still there.

March 14, 2011Congrats! I have to say your blog is awesome. I have a question though, what type of boat is the Swell? I see it’s a 40ft, but I don’t see any spec’s anywhere on the blog. I’m just curious since I’m looking to make the same type of trip and I’m looking to see what others out there are using.
Thanks,
-Damon
