Today I will!!
Today I will
So long coming…
A few days all for me?!
Spinning free, suspended in seafoam green, this cradle of reef gently rocks me,
Umbilically connected by chain and anchor,
…so many steps to arrive here, one foot in front of the other…
wow, here I am.
oh today!!
such pleasure in the little things
clean the corners, sort the drawers
so lovely when all’s neat and tidy
what joy to make time for the things you never make time for…
put love in, only love
spread it all around so there’s room for nothing else.
today I will sit in my yoga postures as long as I please
breathe in…………..breathe out…………………………..
om mani padme om!!
Today I will sketch that mountain, that crater ridge that I love so much…
let my eyes roll so slowly over it…
Lemonade, today I will make lemonade!
Today I’ll ride the energy of the sea
I’ll take one wave for fun, then one for challenge, then one for my homies,
Then one on my head for humility.
Today I’ll watch the clouds turn from white to orange, then to pink and red and
watch how they move, grace and glory!
dance and dance and dance, those colors dance on the surface of the sea…
And I’ll dance too.
I’ll dance too!

December 18, 2010Lizzy,
Your posts keep me inspired. In the past, I shared a quote or two with you (the one about not growing old if you keep playing.) But it is things you share with us all that are more valuable than you know. I just found and finished the Sutherland book (wonderful) and you were gracious enough to suggest others. The world needs more Lizzies. Thank you for sharing and being a hero to some of us.

February 9, 2011Hey Liz,
You are living what Magellan wrote so long ago: “The sea can be a dangerous place, its storms terrible. However, those obstacles are not sufficient reason to stay at home.”
I hope you’re enjoying From Boys 2 Men, a similar journey that took place long ago on a planet not unlike that which you sail today. I was a youthful lad with an inquiring mind, a surfboard under my arm and a thirst for adventure. The beauty of the earth, the kindness of it’s people, the glow of it’s stars have left me speechless on more than one occasion.
Enjoy
